About Interreg

Interreg III is a Community initiative which aims to stimulate interregional cooperation in the EU between 2000-06. It is financed under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Interreg III is made up of 3 strands, each covering different areas of co-operation. The total budget for the period of 2000-06 is 4,875 billion euro. Click on the strands to go to the website for each of them at the official European Union Interreg website. 


  •  Strand A : cross-border co-operation
  •  Strand B : transnational co-operation
  •  Strand C : interregional co-operation


    Interreg IIIB - Transnational Co-operation
    There are altoghether 13 Interreg IIIB Programmes, of which four are involved with the Maritime Safety Umbrella Operation at present.

     

     

    Future Programmes
    The present Interreg Programme Period ends in 2006, and at present it is still being negotiated how it will be continued for the period of 2007-2013. For more information about the development, go to the official EU website on regional policy:
