Project Development

By jointly co-ordinating existing maritime safety projects, the MSUO will provide added value to programmes by undertaking project development. This will be part of the work in WP3. The MSUO will assist existing project partnerships to evolve new projects under future programmes. Joint  co-ordination under the Umbrella Operation will also identify knowledge gaps in the existing suite of Interreg maritime safety projects. Such knowledge gaps will form the basis for developing new maritime safety project proposals for future programmes.                          

Maritime Governance and Technology Consortium (MGTC)
As part of the work the MSUO is undertaking on project development, the Maritime Governance and Technology Consortium has been contracted to assist the MSUO. The aim of their work will be to identify potential project themes and project partners for the next programme period (2007-2013). A questionnaire has been developed for this purpose and distributed among stakeholders. The result of this work is expected to be ready in November 2006.
