Information Technology and Geographical Information Systems: Common Protocols and Procedures

PPC 2b was commissioned to the CSA Group together with the National Centre for Geocomputation in Ireland in May 2006. The objective of the work is to develop common protocols to enable the passage of monitoring information and GIS layers between projects and other organisations. The purpose of this is to aid dissemination of information.

The outputs will be:

  • Report describing common IT procedures

     

  • Report to advise programmes and projects

     

  • Scoping study for project development within this area

     

The final reports are expected to be published in October 2006
